Puppy Raising Consultations
$180 - 60 minutes

New puppy? If you’re unsure how to properly manage the home environment, address critical issues such as house training, sleeping arrangements, separation and independence training, puppy mouthing and biting, jumping, environmental socialisation (introducing your puppy to different locations, surfaces, situations, sounds, people and unfamiliar animals), and generally bring your puppy up as a confident, polite and well-adjusted canine citizen, this can be a great option for you.

  • Initial phone or email assessment

  • 1 hour in-home session

  • Training plan for puppy raising, environmental management, early training and socialisation / habituation for your puppy.

  • Help to successfully integrate your pup with exisiting animals such as dogs, cats, rabbits, chooks

  • Detailed resources and recommendations

  • Follow-up call/email

Smart Dog Training Package!
$450 - 3 x 45 minutes sessions.

Have you recently adopted or acquired a new family member and want to level up your training? This is likely your best option.

  • Initial phone / email assessment

  • 3 x 45 minute sessions, tailored to your needs - in home, outdoors, workplace or a mix of all.

  • Custom training plan and support based on your individual dogs needs, your training goals and requirements and your specific environment.

Skills covered include setting up house rules, boundaries, leadership.
Learning to read, understand and build a healthy bond / relationship your new dog.

A plan on how to settle in, socialise (people, other animals, the environment) exercise, enrich, feed and begin or build on basic training.

Foundation training skills including engagement skills, leash handling, loose leash walking, food and toy reward systems, and basics including sits, drops, recall.

This is a particularly good option for dogs with more complex behavioural challenges including fear based behaviours, over excitability, reactivity, and dogs who have had an inadequate start to life.

You can expect experienced, compassionate and professional advice - Mia has years of direct experience working in shelters, advising and training for new adopters as well as working with dogs from breeders, ex Seeing Eye Dogs, Border Forces, and other organisations.

Group Training - 5 week course
$250

Smart Dog are extremely excited to announce the long awaited return of group dog training!

We are absolutely thrilled to be able to bring Saturday morning group classes to you at the wonderful Hounds of the Hood Richmond @hoth_richmond

Suitable for dogs 6 months and over, the first course is Foundation Training 
but we don't just cover the basic sits and drops, you will learn how to truly build a healthy relationship with a motivated dog who wants to engage with you - a dog that chooses you over other dogs, people & the various millions of distractions and temptations once you leave your home!

(If you are looking for dog to dog or human socialisation / confidence building / calming your dog down around other dogs - this is not the one - but we will be offering an adult dog socialisation course that is geared toward newly acquired dogs whether from rescue, breeder's or elsewhere.) 

In our 5 weeks together, we cover fundamental skills such as handler engagement, leash handling and equipment, reward systems and delivery, the power of play, drive and motivation and the work through the basics.

Training Walk

For dogs who experience challenges out and about, we provide a walk & train service to correct unwanted behaviour. Training covered includes loose lead walking, recall, focus, waiting at curbs/gates, name recognition & more.

Reactive Dogs

Please contact me on 0425 773 154 or info@smartdogbehaviour.com.au to discuss options if you have a reactive dog - depending on the level of reactivity and management required, this service can extend to reactive dogs - fee’s will vary.

Pet Sitting/ House Minding Service

Need a reliable, experienced professional to take care of your pet(s) while you're away? We provide an in-home service to give you peace of mind and keep your dog(s), cat(s) or other creatures happy and healthy in their regular routine. All new client bookings include complimentary meet & greet. References available upon request.
